Throwback Thursday: 5 Iconic Hairstyles

Whether you grew up in the ‘60s, ‘80s, ‘90s or even ‘00s, we all remember some pretty big, wild and iconic hairstyles from back in the day. From our favorite musicians on stage to the actresses in films that are now called “classics,” every decade offers unique styles when it comes to hair.
On this Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at some of our favorite hairstyles - whether they’re remembered for being good or plain awful. Which is your favorite?
5 Iconic Hairstyles From Over the Years
Farrah Fawcett

We all remember her from “Charlie’s Angels.” She was the blonde beauty that every woman wanted to be - and often is for Halloween - and that every man dreamed about. Those long, blonde waves looked relaxed and flawless, but we know it probably took hours to achieve that gorgeous hair - at least back then. We wouldn’t be surprised if someone comes in within the next couple weeks asking for the Farrah, and we don’t blame you.

Audrey Hepburn
Once we saw Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” we all wanted to be classy, wear those gloves and have a crown in our hair. This look has been adapted over the years, which has now migrated into the top knot. This up-do is still a possibility for a formal event, but we might suggest skipping the crown to avoid looking a little conceited.

Was it a good style or bad? “The Rachel” was one of the most requested hairstyles in the 1990s, but it’s still a controversy whether or not it was actually that good. Jennifer Aniston herself has now said she wasn’t very into it, but it still made our list as one of the top iconic hairstyles. Did you ever have “The Rachel?”

Bo Derek

Bo Derek was a beach babe that rocked the braided look we all slightly wanted, but were all too afraid to actually try. Running on the beach was her specialty, all while making the braids look like they’ve always been a trend. Some of us have tried this while on vacation, and had to quickly take them out when arriving home because we just didn’t live up to Bo.

Back in the ‘80s, Cher was known for being in Sunny and Cher, wearing those high-waisted jeans, and having that huge hair. Cher is still rocking a similar look, but we love looking back at this music and hair icon. We’ve seen he pull off a sleek look, but we always think of her having hat big, wavy ‘do.
